Atlantis The Palm Dubai Review: Everything You Need to Know

Atlantis The Palm is one of the most visited hotels in the world — but does the reality live up to the hype? We give you the honest, complete picture.

The Short Answer

Yes — but only if you’re going for the right reasons. Atlantis is unmatched for families and water park fans. If you want a quiet, intimate luxury escape, look elsewhere.

Aquaventure Waterpark

The crown jewel. At 17 hectares with 105 rides and slides, it’s one of the world’s best waterparks. Staying at Atlantis gives you complimentary access — alone worth AED 400+ per person per day. For families, this makes Atlantis exceptional value.

The Rooms

Standard rooms are large (37 sqm) but dated. The resort has been operating since 2008 and some areas show their age. That said, the Signature rooms and Club Suites have been renovated and feel fresh. The most spectacular option is the underwater suite — yes, an actual room with a floor-to-ceiling window into the Ambassador Lagoon aquarium.

Dining

With 23 restaurants and bars (including two Nobu outposts), dining at Atlantis is a destination in itself. Ossiano — the fine dining restaurant built around the aquarium — is one of the most unique dining experiences in the world.

The Beach

The private beach is 700 metres of white sand on the Palm’s crescent. It’s gorgeous but can get very busy in peak season. The Aquaventure beach areas are included and offer more space.

Who Should Stay Here

  • ✅ Families with children — absolutely exceptional
  • ✅ First-time Dubai visitors wanting the iconic experience
  • ✅ Groups celebrating special occasions
  • ❌ Couples wanting quiet and intimacy
  • ❌ Business travellers (Atlantis Royal is better for this)
